How are Roles used and how are they connected to the Directory?
Roles are used to define what access a user gets in the system. You can either give the user access to all the data or restrict it to only assigned data or their own data and the level of customization goes far beyond the simplicity of the answer.
Roles are connected to the Directory because the Roles are assigned to Employees in the Directory.
